Shappy Chic Interior Design

Shabby Chic interior design presents a soft, feminine feel that differentiates this look from other vintage styles. It is a uniquely romantic way of decorating that first originated in the the 1980’s in the United Kingdom. Shabby Chic interior design consists of furnishings that are either chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear, or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor.

  • Furniture: Shabby Chic furnishings show signs of wear and distressed, time-worn and painted layers.
  • Fabrics: Fabrics tend to be cottons and old French linens. Whites and pastels are favorite colors.
  • Decor: Popular decor items are pillows made of vintage fabrics, vintage linens, chenille bedspreads, vintage chandeliers, and anything with roses on it.

St. Andrews Collection by Bradshaw Kirchofer

Inspired by royalty and with understated elegance, the St Andrews Collection by Bradshaw Kirchofer was
named after the place Kate and William met, at St Andrews University in Scotland.
Featuring a soft palette of ocean aqua, whisper beige and a blushing, vintage pink, the
line boasts artisan-applied craftsmanship for a lightly distressed, care-worn look
reminiscent of English classics.

The collection features a range of mix-and-match furniture pieces, such as a day bed,
twin bed, dressers, side tables and a tall wardrobe. Other special features include
curved lines, ornate, gold crown accents and intricate, hand-carved wood patterns.
Made from 100 percent natural, solid pine, the St Andrews Collection may look vintage,
but it’s sturdy enough to last a lifetime.

The Daybed is handmade from solid pine wood, finished by hand and shown in Vintage Pink.

The Cabinet  is full of charm and character with a beveled edge mirrored back shelf above a base with three deep drawers and two cupboards.

Kitchens: The Hub of the Home

Kitchens: The Hub of the Home

Today's kitchens are where people congregate. Spacious kitchen islands, banquettes, better technology, and integrated offices give families space to hang out, work, and dine in one central space.
As the kitchen has evolved into a type of living room, islands have become a popular feature because of their versatility. They can serve as the primary work space, a secondary work space, extra storage, or a spot for multiple cooks to spread out.

Edgy Classic Style

Edgy Classic is perfect for traditionalists who like to add a little of the unexpected. (You're the kind of girl who wears a little black dress accessorized with hot pink shoes.) Edgy Classic embraces the past while simultaneously welcoming the contemporary – it's grand, but not fussy. The elements of a traditional room are given a twist – drapes are still long and full but streamlined and don't puddle on the ground; modern chairs and/or sofas reside in the same seating areas as their antique ancestors; modern fabrics cover vintage pieces; and crystal chandeliers hang over it all. Be sure to add some antique accents but bridge the casual and the formal with clean-lined pieces. Most of all, have fun with this look – a white bust of Elvis can look scrumptious next to an oversized antique gilt mirror.
